Before the iPAD Grid PAD

January 1991, before the I-PAD there were tablet computers. In Healthcare the Grid Pad was one development. No Wifi in those days either. The Grid pad used a wireless radio transmitter and coded signals. Handwriting recognition was an alternative to key board entry but was prone to misinterpreting the user input. This was filmed at the Anderson consulting Hospital of the Future display in Dallas January 1991.

Johns intense hatred for threat intelligence feeds is pretty well known. Trying to defend your network against specific attacks from specific actors is a waste of time and effort. But maybe there is a way we can do this better! Could we automate this? Possibly, John has had a change of heart… Not likely. But join us and see for yourself.

Whonix Install and Review

In this episode of the CyberGizmo we explore Whonix. Whonix is a distro designed to run on a Virtualbox VM (and a few others) running on Linux, MacOS or Windows. So you can take advantage of its privacy features without having to give up the operating system you are currently using. Whonix is also the anon-guest for Qubes so it wear many hats and is designed to protect all applications which connect to the network, not just your web browsing habits. I also compare Whonix to Qubes, Tails and the Tor Browser (alone) somewhat.
